Misuang Bola Bola (Wheat Vermicelli with Pork Meatballs)

Description

This soup made of pork meatballs and wheat vermicelli is good for those cold months.  It is very easy to make.  If you are lazy to make the meatballs then you can just brown the ground pork in the cooked onions and garlic before adding the broth.  Other versions add vegetables like patola (silk squash) or zucchini. 

Ingredients
    Soup Ingredients
  • 3 oz misua (wheat vermicelli)
  • 1 tbsp Knorr chicken boullion
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 6 cup water
  • chopped scallions
  • vegetable oil
  • Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium yellow onion minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
  1. Combine all meatball ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Scoop 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture and form into balls. Set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pot. Saute garlic and onions until fragrant.  Add and fry the meatballs until light brown. Do not overcook as it will continue cooking in the next step

  3. Pour water, add Knorr seasoning and let boil for 10 minutes.

  4. Add misua and cook for 5 minutes.  Season with salt and pepper according to your liking.

  5. Add scallions. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve and enjoy!
